F Laeisz Reederei sold MV Piro

Germany’s F Laeisz Reederei has sold a 17-year-old bulker MV Piro. The Hamburg-based owner is said to have fetched $6.5m for the 73,700-dwt Piro (ex-Babitonga, built 1997).
MV Piro’s registered owner is a one-ship limited partnership (KG) that shares an address with Laeisz, which controls a fleet of 41 car carriers, LPG carriers, containerships, bulkers and research vessels.
