MV Nana 2 drifted and gave SOS signal

Captain of the 5,000-dwt MV Nana 2 (built 2009) reported to rescue authorities that he had managed to anchor the ship off Sakhalin on Sunday. Russian emergencies ministry said: "Information from the captain of the Nana 2 ship has been received saying that nothing threatens the life and well-being of those on board, as the crew have balanced the ship." Mi-8 helicopter has carried out a flight over the area in order to confirm the information from the captain. MV Nana 2 had sent an SOS earlier on Sunday while en route from South Korea to the port of Moscalvo in Russia.
MV Nana 2 engine had shut down and strong winds caused it to drift toward the shore. MV Nana 2 has 15 Chinese nationals on board. It is operated by Shanghai Marukichi Ship Management.
