The Singapore admiralty sheriff detained the 50,000-dwt semi-submersible barge MV Gavea Lifter (built 2002) on Wednesday evening. The Panama-flagged vessel was arrested on the instructions of local law firm Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP.
MV Gavea Lifter is likely to be related to outstanding payments for services.
MV Gavea Lifter owned by Holland-based Fairmount Marine and MV Gavea Lifter is world’s largest semi-submersible barge.
MV Gavea Lifter was converted from the tanker Zhong Ren 3 at China’s Nantong Ocean Ship Engineering (Nosec) in 2002.
