Turkish bulker, MV Lady Saliha has rescued the crew of a sailing vessel in distress off Florida and safely delivered them to dry land. 30,100-dwt MV Lady Saliha (built 2011) headed to New Orleans last week when it received a call from the US Coast Guard that the catamaran Pavana was in trouble just 20 kilometres away, according Capt Mahir Zaimoglu, the bulker’s master of MV Lady Saliha. Turkish Deval Transportation-owned bulker, which was 370 kilometres off Florida, changed course and reached the sailing boat an hour later. After the three passengers were brought onboard, MV Lady Saliha’s crew made several attempts to recover the Pavana as well but were unsuccessful.The Pavana’s crew safely disembarked on Saturday in New Orleans.
