Eastern Mediterranean Maritime captain has died on a bulker 73,000-dwt MV Elefsis (built 1997) at anchorage off South Africa. A government paramedic was taken aboard after the master suffered a suspected asthma attack and breathing difficulties.
Captain was found to be in a stable but deteriorating condition and despite emergency resuscitation efforts, he lapsed into unconsciousness.
