Ferry Amadeo I capsizes

Passengers and crew have been evacuated from a capsized ferry off Chile.
The Chilean navy sent ships and a helicopter to mount a rescue operation after the 5,700-dwt ro-ro Amadeo I (built 1976) ran aground on Monday off Paso Kirke.
A total of 17 passengers and 28 crew were taken off the Navimag vessel, local reports said.
The ship was listing at sixty degrees in the water.
The ferry was brought into shallower water to prevent a complete sinking.
No pollution has yet been reported.
