A Greek bulker broke down in the middle of the Dardanelles while leaving Istanbul.
The 53,565-dwt Marine Stars (built 2006) suffered some damage earlier at the narrowest point of the strait between Canakkale and Kilitbahir and dropped anchor off the village of Eceabat, local media said.
Marine Stars is operated by Aegeus Shipping of Athens.
