Hong Kong-flagged 56,928 DWT MV RUI LEE (built 2011) which is owned by Winland Shipping arrested by Singapore’s admiralty sheriff due to unpaid bunkers.
MV Rui Lee was detained on Wednesday morning on the orders of lawyers from Oon & Bazu.
Singapore’s Seabridge Bunkering Pte filed a lawsuit in February over unpaid dues for bunkers supplied to a ship owned by a sister company.
Seabridge Bunkering Pte supplied bunkers to the 1,020-dwt Feng Ping (built 1996), owned by China-based Dalian Winland Shipping group last year. The shipowner paid 30% but failed to settle the balance of bunker bills.
