Lauritzen Bulkers sold MV Camilla Bulker

Lauritzen Bulkers of Denmark has confirmed the sale of capesize MV Camilla Bulker hit by a charter default when STX Pan Ocean ran into trouble.
179,000-dwt MV Camilla Bulker (built 2009) had been sold to Marmaras Navigation in a deal worth $40m.
Peter Borup, president of Lauritzen Bulkers, confirms the ship had been sold but declines to disclose any details regarding the price or the buyer.
Peter Borup said  “We don’t want to be in capesizes,”  and explaining he would rather have the capital to deploy in the core supramax and handysize segments.
The sale of Camilla Bulker leaves Lauritzen with three other capesizes, the 179,000-dwt Churchill Bulker and Corona Bulker (built 2011) and the 180,000-dwt Christine (built 2010).
Peter Borup explained the company lacked the scale in the capesize market to operate successfully on a spot basis.
