Hellenic shipowners have scrapped the highest amount of dry bulk tonnage so far in the year. According to VesselsValue’s data, Greek ship owners have scrapped a total of 54 vessels, with an aggregate deadweight capacity of 4,984,500 tons. Capesizes were the largest ship type group to be scrapped, with a total of 20 vessels with a capacity of 3.22 million dwt tons. Ship owners from Hellas also scrapped 16 Panamaxes with a total deadweight of 1.14 million tons.
