Brazil's Northeast cane output cut after dry weather

Below average rains in Brazil's Northeast region reduced the amount of cane the area is expected to produce in the 2015/16 crop. Brazil's Northeast is projected to crush 52 million tonnes of cane in the current crop, versus a previous estimate of 59 million tonnes. The region accounts for nearly 10 percent of Brazil's total cane, sugar and ethanol output.
