Jordan cancels tender to buy 100,000 tonnes wheat

ordan’s Ministry of Trade and Industry canceled for the second time a tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of wheat. The wheat was being sought for shipment during the second half of February and the first half of March, but traders said no offers were made. Jordan had also received no offers on Nov. 18 when it initially tendered for the amount. Jordan has canceled several tenders in recent months due to a lack of offers, with traders blaming strict tender terms on inspection and payment, although the country did announce a purchase of both wheat and barley earlier this month.
