Lithuanian Shipping filed bankruptcy again

Struggling bulker owner Lithuanian Shipping Company (LSC) has filed for bankruptcy for the second time in four months. The shipowner said in a statement its general director had requested a start to proceedings at the district court of Klaipeda. It first filed in July, but was rescued by the country’s government, which arranged a loan of EUR 3m ($3.18m) from SEB Bankas. Stasys Dailydka, the CEO of its controlling shareholder state-run Lithuanian Railways, said the bankruptcy was inevitable.
