China imported 9.12 million tonnes of soybeans in December, the second highest monthly level on record and taking total 2015 imports to a record high of 81.69 million tonnes. December soybean imports were up 6.9 percent on a year ago, while 2015 shipments rose 14.4 percent, reflecting strong demand for soymeal, a key ingredient in animal feed production.
