Capesize Bulkers market crash continues

Daily average rate for capesize vessels fell a further 1.6% today to $3,674 per day as the Baltic Exchange capesize index fell eight points to 480, and the Baltic Dry Index nine points to 794. It is the longest run of drops since February 2012.
Icap Shipping says Q1 rates were at $8,100 and Q2 on $10,600 but it said bids were scaling back.
181,408-dwt MV Mineral Honshu (built 2012) was reported fixed to Cargill today for delivery in Brazil between 20-30 January at $6,000 per day plus a ballast bonus of $130,000. Redelivery is in Europe.
Brazil-China route rates declined 1% to $11.515 per tonne, but Australia-China rose 1.2% to $5.086 per tonne.
