Berge Bulk pocketed $10m profit sale of a capesize bulker

Berge Bulk have pocketed a healthy profit on a capesize bulker it bought just a year ago. 179,397-dwt MV Berge McClintock (built 2012) has been sold to Navios Maritime for around $51m. James Marshall’s Singapore-based Berge Bulk bought the vessel last August as MV Bulk Canada for $41.2m.
Berge Bulk bought the ship just as the capesize spot market was picking up and would have traded it for around six months when rates were stronger than today.
Berge Bulk has 30 other capesize bulkers worth almost $1bn on the water. Berge Bulk has a further 23 bulkers on order in China, 17 capes and 6 handysizes.
