Courage scraps bulker

Hong Kong owner makes $3.86m loss on sale of 1997-built bulker for demolition. Hong Kong’s Courage Marine is booking a loss of $3.86m from selling a veteran bulker for scrap. It said the 72,000-dwt Courage (built 1997) has gone to Liberia-registered Autumn Harvest Maritime for $2.48m, compared to a carrying value of $6.23m. The company paid $8.6m for the ship in January 2014, but called the disposal price “attractive” in current market conditions.
